Every summer, we try to take a trip down the Kennebec River to Boothbay Harbor in the family Boston Whaler. For as long as I can remember, it’s been one of the highlights of my year. 2012 did not disappoint!
Clear blue skies, 80 degrees, and not too busy. Just the way we like it!
My two boys, trying to look tough.
Schooners coming into the harbor.
We saw 11 bald eagles! Everywhere we turned, there was another one! We also saw huge belly-flopping sturgeon, lots of ospreys, and a whole pack of seals sunning themselves!
We were totally toasted after six hours out on the water, but it was worth it!

I took that trip one year with your parents on a Labor Day weekend. It was extraordinary, especially with your Dad’s running commentary about the history and wildlife. We, too, saw bald eagles and jumping sturgeon. It was an amazing day!
so happy for you!
