I happened across this little video on a friend’s Facebook last week. I was intrigued by the title, and I found myself guessing what the question would be. But I don’t want to spoil it for you. Give it a peek, then we’ll chat.

Sad and happy all at once, right?

It made me wonder whether I have regrets of my own. I generally don’t do regrets. I work under the assumption that there’s a reason for being where you are if you’re aware of the lessons you learned getting there.

But what if I had been faced with harder choices? Or different choices? Lived in a different era? Or if I had to pick a regret, had to give an answer?

It’s a tough one, alright.

What about you all? Do you have regrets? Are they big or little? Happy or sad?

Almost none personally. I live like I want to and am trying to raise my kid as best as I can. Not perfect, but very few regrets in my adult life. And I love the guy they close with.

    Good filmmaking. Good question.

You know what? I love where I am. I wouldn’t change a thing. It doesn’t mean I love every moment in my past — it just means that I know how all of those moments have shaped me, and I’m thankful for that.

personally, i try not to regret. if i changed just one thing in my past i would not be where i am today, and today i am pretty happy so i’ll take it! i did find it interesting how many people mentioned not immigrating sooner/ever.

as an aside, i am dating an irishman that immigrated to Australia almost 6 years ago and we are considering moving back to Ireland (Dublin if he can find work in his field, otherwise we’ll head to the south) once he gets citizenship and we have a child. its been lovely to read of your journey.

Thanks, Charm, for your kind words! I think it’s so important to try to be happy where you are and make changes for the future – not dwell on the past.
